Gunyun Entertainment Is a relatively, yet quickly developed independent label that was established in 2000.
It all started as a dream that a Chicago native Labrone T Johnson had awhile growing up in the south as a dj.
His stage name was DJ Sir 2 Tricky he was the #1 dj for all the local high schools.
When Labrone was in high school he started his own company, selling suckers.
And he had a staff Aljervan Johnson, Marcus Hemphill and even had a treasure Sabrina Tanner when Aljervan or Marcus
was out sick he had part time workers Jerome Harris & Greg Stanley. The principle of the school found out that Labrone
had a sucker company he told him to stop the sales as of that day. Being what the grown up called a hard head child.
Labrone didn’t listen and start making over $250 a week after he paid his staff that’s a lot to a high school student.
Labrone made sure he dressed with the best of clothes. He had to have the Air Jordan gym shoes. Labrone didn’t stop there
he made a group called the dirty dozen that consist of him and 11 of his class mates they started a club without
the school knowing and it got out into the streets and the other local schools. When the principle found out he
talked to Labrone and they came to an agreement that if he was going to have an organization that he had to do it
the right way. So Labrone he gave Bruce Hemphill & Terrance Wright a week to come up with a name that can represent
the Organization. They came up with D.A.Y.M., which stood for Debonair Association Of Young Black Men. Labrone and
D.A.Y.M. started a big brother program, and started tutoring kids. The school told Labrone and his friends that
they were proud that they started something that was beneficial for them. Labrone knowing that when they graduate they
had to keep the D.A.Y.M. active they got some eleven graders to become members so they would still have a legacy. When the
founders of D.A.Y.M. left the school got more involved with the organization so they had a Mr. D.A.Y.M. in the high school
parade. Labrone never knew the effect he would have on the people around him. He laughs today when his friend
Labron Alexander calls him Mr. D.A.Y.M. Labrone didn’t stop with the sucker company and after high school he went to
college and graduated from JSU home of he SWAC. So Labrone T Johnson the C.E.O. of
GUNYUN ENTERTAINMENT started his Label.
